On the issue of linguocentric approach to the study of the text: the text as a unit of language

A text-centric approach is used in studying intra-text integration, (since the text is understood as an autonomous structural-semantic whole without correlation with the participants of literary communication); and in the study of intertextual integration, an anthropocentric approach is used (since here the correlation “author - text - reader” is important). Engaging the reader in the narrative as an observer, and sometimes as an “accomplice,” is an interpersonal function of the language (hidden form). The text function, integrating the entire work, can unite two parallel messages in one piece. The text function is implemented through thematic and informational structures and corresponding cohesive relations.
