The article is devoted to the comparison of poem “The Queen of Hearts” translations in the eleventh chapter of the fairy tale “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by L. Carroll. The analysis of the poem reveals that its original content and form differ from the poem translations according to the adequacy translations as a fundamental criterion of translation quality. The structural elements chosen by the translators make it possible to assess the social significance of the poem. The different levels of transformation - semantic, grammatical and stylistic - depend on the translation time period, the personality of the translators, and the subjective preferences of the audience.
