Distance technologies in the development of research activities of university students

The modernization of the education system in Russia sets new requirements for the training of innovative-type specialists. In modern conditions, research and innovation activities are closely interrelated. On the one hand, innovation, in the early stages, includes research activities in the form of basic and applied research and experimental development. On the other hand, one of the functions of research activities is the ability to innovate. The active introduction of information technologies in all spheres of society opens up broad opportunities for the development of research activities of students at the university. In addition, it is necessary to emphasize the available opportunity to improve qualifications, to carry out retraining of personnel in various professional areas that are in demand in the labor market. In the system of distance education you can learn regardless of age, location, time. The main research methods were: theoretical (analysis, synthesis, abstraction and concretization, systematization, generalization); empirical (the study of regulatory documentation, analysis of the results of research activities of students). This article discusses the goals, the main models of distance education, highlights the features of distance learning technologies, outlines the potential for their implementation in the development of students' research activities. The authors emphasize the extensive resources of distance education in terms of access of students of higher educational institutions to various sources of information, increasing the efficiency of independent work, new opportunities for creativity, and the acquisition and assimilation of various research and development skills.
