Objectification of gender concepts in discursive practices (on the example of modern song discourse)

The paper focuses on gender stereotyping in Russian and English song discourse. The focal point of the study is the analysis of concept “woman”. Actually, the results manifest Russian song texts contain traditional stereotypes of androcentric society, where a woman is a man’s faithful companion, while in English lyrics the leveling of patriarchal canons is observed. In one way or another, the vast majority of the songs of Russian subcultural and western song discourse are devoted to gender relations, where a woman is just an object of male sexual desire.
