English language as one of the principal instruments of the world globalization

Globalization is a phenomenon which exists at all levels of human life, from economy to culture. In the last decades of the 20th century the scientists began to study the peculiarities of the language in the epoch of globalization. At that time the English language got the status of the global language. But the globalization of the English language has not only positive trends of its development but also negative ones as well. The main danger of the English language as an instrument of globalization is the loss of the national originality and ethnic identity and as a result the languages of the whole nations can be disappeared. The object of this article is the positive and negative influence of the English language on the world globalization processes.
