The organizational and ideological and political role of Archpriest I. Vostorgov in the consolidation of right-wing monarchical forces in the conditions of the First Russian Revolution and the inter-revolutionary period

The question of the connectedness of the practical activities of representatives of the conservative clergy in the unifying process of right-wing monarchical forces with the ideological base, most fully presented in the concept of Archpriest I. Vostorgov, is examined. The activity was not aimed at subordinating the "popular" RNC to the church, the task was to overcome the internal confrontation of the right-wing monarchist movement. Ideology was a reflexive or discursive conservatism, had a certain “core” (“invariant core”), represented by “rationalized values of a traditional society”. The Orthodox-religious consciousness determined the orientation on the consolidation and struggle of all patriotic forces against internal enemies. Functionally, the ideology of the association turned out to be unpromising due to the deep sociocultural split of society, the negative attitude of secular right-wingers towards the I. Vostorgov project, and the ambiguous attitude to political activity as part of the NRC among the clergy themselves. Practical activity on the ways of uniting the disparate forces of the right did not become a factor of consolidation, but of strengthening the internal confrontation of the right-wing monarchist movement.
