Economic activity of landlords in galicia in the second half of the XIX- early XX century

The article analyzes the features of landlords entrepreneurship in Galicia in the second half of the XIX-early XX century. The ban of serfdom contributed to the development of the capitalist economy. At the same time, a number of survivals persisted, such as the hiring of labor for in-kind pay and the actual retention of propination. The influence of large Polish landowners on the social and political life of Galicia is noted. In particular, the project of construction of a network of channels for transportation of agricultural and forest products of estates is characterized.
