New approaches to social-cultural design: case study method in pre-design study technology

The article presents a new approach to the design and research activities of students - future specialists in the field of culture, expanding the potential of the case study method, as an element of educational and research technology. The possibilities of using the complex of educational and research cases as a methodological basis for pre-project research, which ensures the development of socio-cultural projects of various scales, types, and degrees of complexity, are shown. The structure of cases, the execution algorithm, the features of the methods for presenting results, focused on the development of professional skills and abilities, are disclosed. The results of the use of educational and research cases in the process of preparing bachelors in the specialty «Social and cultural activities», within the implementation of an additional professional training program for creative and managerial personnel in the field of culture are presented.
