Concept «SUN» and its ethno-cultural specificity in english and crimean tatar languages

The article is devoted to the analysis of the mental object «SUN» in English and Crimean Tatar. Based on the material of folk songs and fairy tales, the role of the «SUN» concept in the ethnocultural tradition of the British and Crimean Tatars is investigated. The author concludes that the main values characterizing the concept under consideration are: a source of light and heat, a celestial object, a bright luminary. At the end of the work, conclusions are drawn that in the worldview of the British and Crimean Tatars the concept of «SUN» is perceived as significant, since it is dedicated to public holidays, and it is also mentioned in folklore sources.
