Semiotic alienation and its structures, mechanisms and origins

The article is devoted to the description of a specific type of alienation characteristic of the modern stage of development of human civilization. Analyzing the historical precedents for the use of the category of "alienation" in philosophy and various sciences, the author deduces that a specific type of alienation is characteristic for our time, which the author calls semiotic alienation. An attempt is made to identify the main structural and genetic features of this type of alienation. The conclusion is drawn that the semiotic alienation should be studied in the context of linguistics and semiotics.
