Cross-cultural competency of а modern teacher in the conditions of global transformations

The article deals with the phenomenon of multiculturalism as a problem and resource of social development, modes of cultural globalization, the importance of cross-cultural competence for social development. Сultural enrichment, multiculturalism are attributes of the modern world. However, in the context of globalization, the problems of multiculturalism acquire new peculiarities and become more acute. Cross-cultural competencу is a key resource that contributes to social development. The authors research the specifics of the formation of cross-cultural competency of future professionals in a multicultural environment; identify key linguistic and didactic principles of its development. The authors consider cross-cultural competency as an aspect of language personality formation, emphasizing the links between a foreign language and culture of the country the language of which is being learnt.
