The media texts in the development of lexical system of modern English (on materials of the newspaper “The Guardian’)

The article deals with the role of media text in the development of the lexical system of the English language at the present stage. Based on the analysis of media texts published in the online version of the Guardian newspaper in 2015-2019, General and specific features of the appearance, functioning and actualization of two types of new vocabulary in the media text-occasionalisms and neologisms – are revealed.
