The role of background knowledge in proffessional education of international specialists (on the example of german language)

In this article, the author describes and classifies the background knowledge, which is one of the fundamentals for the formation and development of the socio-cultural competence, which in turn provides for successful intercultural communication. The author shows various examples that illustrate the socio-cultural differences, which can cause difficulties during the communication of representatives of the Russian cultural community and those of German-speaking countries.
