The role of the teacher of a foreign language in updating the education process in a higher school

The development of the world educational space has resulted in radical changes in the Russian education system. Requirements for linguistic and cross-cultural competences of the foreign languages teachers’ personality have considerably increased, which gives the opportunities to improve advantages of an open society. The educational process represents the whole of the system. The teacher is responsible for the right selection of the linguistic materials that includes the setting of goals, determines the content of the education, develops students’ creative activities for their further professional career. The teacher of a foreign language is a vocational programmer of his actions targeted at updating of the whole educational process in a higher school.
