Analysis of metaphorical meanings of the zoonym wolf in Russian and Chinese as a way to identify interlingual universals and ethnocultural specificity

The article presents a comparative study of the zoonym wolf in Russian and Chinese linguocultures in order to identify their features. The research material is based on figurative words, phraseological units and other figurative means of the Russian and Chinese languages. The basis of the method for identifying symbolic universals and ethnocultural specificity, represented by units of the culture code, is the analysis of metaphorical values of the zoonym wolf in each of the compared languages and the overlay of the results obtained.
