The role of microcontext in the process of translation of polysemantic words

In the presented article the role and the significance of the context in the translational process are considered. The author stresses the importance of taking into account the peculiarities of the microcontext, or the narrow context, for the adequate textual perception in the process of translation of polysemantic words. The necessity of pointing out the groups of usage and norms of a target language and extralinguistic information for a better translation is explained. It is concluded that the results of the conducted research would be important for the quality assessment of translation decisions.
