Terms and quasiturbine in the source and translated text on the materials of works of A. and B. Strugatsky

Nizovtseva Tatyana Vladislavovna  (postgraduate student, Moscow state Regional University)

This paper discusses the terms and quasi-terms used in the works of the Strugatsky brothers, as well as the semantic and grammatical features of the neologisms and occasionalisms studied. Despite the large number of studies devoted to the analysis of the Strugatsky brothers ' work, the vocabulary that includes terms and quasi-terms in the works we selected for research has not previously been the subject of scientific description. This is the novelty of our work. The article explores individual author's neologisms (terms and quasi-terms), and also provides a comparative analysis of occasionalisms with other language units. In conclusion, this study concludes that a special vocabulary is necessary to create a literary flavor and is necessary for an adequate perception of works in the genre of science fiction. The analysis of the Strugatsky works showed that the individual author's neologisms themselves recreate the color of Russian science fiction. Many neologisms are taken from English, but they can be translated into Russian, giving the author's idea and position sensibly.

Keywords:terms, quasi-terms, neology, neologisms, quasineologisms, science fiction, word formation.
