The orgins of direct democracy in Russia

This article reviews some aspects of the origin and development of social political institutes with direct democracy signs in VII-XII centuries in Russia. It reveals uniqueness of national experience of democratic state structure since first mentioning of proofing democracy in social life and finishing by description of different forms of public representation during the period of the birth of Old Russian state. It contains their description and distinctive features, emphasizes the meaning of these forms in further evolution and establishment of democratic foundations of statehood.
