The teaching of traditional Chinese painting is an important aspect in the development of China's national artistic culture. The subject of the study is its characteristic features. The aim is to study the principles of teaching traditional painting. The points of view of teachers from different countries on the very definition of the term education are analyzed, the milestones of the historical development of teaching traditional Chinese painting are studied. Education in the field of painting, like painting itself, is strongly influenced by Chinese culture and values. Teaching guhua solved different problems at different stages of the development of painting. Studying Gohua training goals can provide us with certain necessary experiences. The development of Chinese painting entered its heyday: an important task of painting is to influence the artist’s work, that is, painting can be used to improve the artist’s personality.
