The research of understanding of educational material in training mathematics

The article explores the problem of understanding educational material in mathematics classes. We found out that it is difficult to understand educational material both for students of technical university and secondary schools. After the experiment we recorded how many people were in a state of understanding the educational material and how long they were in this process. We analyzed the data using well-known mathematical statistics. The results of the study showed that two thirds of the total number of the testees are in a state of “I understand nothing” or “I understand something”. And only one third of the testees understand the material. This study is relevant, because it contributes to solving the problem of students understanding the educational material in mathematics.
