Kulikova Olga V.  (Doctor of Philology, Professor, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia)

The article focuses on the sociopragmatic factor as the critical one for the development of the modern English language lexical base. The paper contains an overview of the analysis of English neologisms which have not been registered in lexicographic sources yet. Nevertheless, the neologisms in question have already been sanctioned by usage. The most typical word-building models enabling neologisms to assimilate into the native speakers’ verbal communication are given careful consideration. Spheres of the English-speaking community’s life serving as donors providing neologisms for the modern English language Corpus are identified in the present research. The article underlines the role of the sociopragmatic factor in securing the Anglophone community’s verbal communication effectiveness.
