Ballet memoiristics as a historical source

The article is devoted to the period of the late 19th, early 20th century, which became legendary in the field of Russian ballet art, whose figures have won genuine world recognition and whose memoirs have been reprinted for many decades in different countries of the world. The content of the proposed article explains the specifics of the peculiarities of ballet memoiristics, its importance in the general array of historical sources, the value of aspects of the study of memories, which allows professional historians and specialists in the humanities to restore most fully a retrospective of the life and work of Russian ballet workers.
