Educational mechanism of modern students with the right consumer’s view

The transition to the principles of sustainable development based on taking into account the environmental component, which today can be observed in many countries of the world, becomes possible only if the efforts of the state, business community and the population are well-coordinated. In this process, higher education institutions play the role of integrator of economic, social and environmental aspects, which are the basis for sustainable consumption and a "green" economy. Due to the large number of scientific studies in this direction, there is no longer any need to prove that the state, enterprises, and society are interested in creating and maintaining favorable environmental conditions, however, in practice, short-term interests often prevail over long-term ones. This leads to the adoption of economic decisions by these entities that correspond to current interests, but do not take into account their consequences in the future. In this article, the authors argue that fostering the correct consumer outlook among modern students is a basic condition for the formation of a "green" economy and moderate, rational consumption. The authors offered their recommendations and mechanisms for the implementation of this educational process.
