Homo dicens: human in the modern world

The modern world is changing dynamically, and the language mentality and the worldview of native speakers in general are changing. The article is devoted to the understanding of the changes taking place in the aspect of the linguistic educational space and the ways of understanding these changes by students studying Russian as a means of communication and an object of professional activity. As a reflection of the current state of science, the term "homo dicens" is proposed, in which the semantics of "impact", the creative development of the world by a person with the help of a word, is sharpened. The experience of organizing and conducting an international language Olympiad of a new type, held on the basis of the Moscow City University, is presented.
