Problems of creating a comprehensive history of the black sea region: the search for methodology

This article is devoted to the issues of long-term planning of regional historical research, as well as the development of strategies of Russian and international historical science in relation to the Black Sea region as a specific and interesting region for historians. Based on the review analysis, the authors put forward a thesis about the obvious insufficiency of comprehensive universal historical works on the Black Sea region and actualize the problems of the need to develop an adequate methodology for carrying out this kind of scientific research. In addition, there is a need to develop international scientific integration as an important condition for success in the implementation of such large-scale projects.
