Overcoming the intergenerational gap in the modern educational system by means of physical culture

The article summarizes the materials of pedagogical observations of the implementation of the academic discipline "Physical Culture and Sports" in the modern system of higher education. It is shown that the current situation, aggravated by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, can be presented as a practice that does not essentially meet the requirements of the times. Physical culture and sports turned out to be removed from the core of students' preferences for various reasons. Attempts by industry experts to return the subject to its proper status run into passive resistance from students who do not see points of growth in this academic discipline for themselves. In the life of a large number of young people, the values ​​of consuming knowledge, skills and abilities prevail without the formation of the necessary personal effort to produce and maintain them in working condition. Traditional methodological approaches have exhausted their potential, so it is necessary to search for new forms and methods of organizing the educational process. One of these approaches is to focus the attention of those involved in their natural body structure, through which they will be able to identify their personal strategies as an integral part of life. A competent attitude to corporeality contributes to understanding not only the structure of the body, but also actively extrapolates to the world around us with its cultural and historical traditions.
