Studying Chinese loanwords in Russian

The article discusses the main patterns and historical reasons for the emergence of Sinicisms in the Russian language. It is emphasized that any national language is closely connected with historical processes in society. The author states that at the moment, the number of borrowed words from the Chinese language remains quite small, but it has increased significantly compared to earlier periods of history. For this reason, the article examines not only the grammatical and phonetic features of the formation of Sinicisms, but also the historical reasons for their spread in the Russian language. It is concluded that a large number of borrowed words have a geographical origin. This statement applies to the names of plants, animals, culinary delights, of course, and philosophical currents, whose homeland is Ancient China, etc. The study of sinicisms is extremely important both for understanding the history of the development of the Russian language and for the competent use of borrowed words. The article provides an explanation why there is a trend of misuse in the Russian language of some Chinese terms, the spelling and pronunciation of which do not correspond to the literary norms of the Chinese language.
