Analysis of psycholinguistic aspects of the process of learning English spelling

The purpose of this article is to analyze the psycholinguistic aspects of the spelling competence formation process. This article discusses some cognitive processes that affect the mastery of the spelling of the English language. In the study of the problems, an attempt was made to identify the main factors and an analysis of the processes taking place during spelling training was given. In writing the article, special attention was drawn to such phenomena as interference, motivation, mechanisms of long-term memory and mechanisms of internal pronunciation, the dominant channel of information perception, as well as the individual characteristics of the trainees.
