Specifics of teaching professionally oriented reading of foreign-language texts in an aviation institution

This article analyzes professionally oriented reading as part of the competency-based approach to teaching a foreign language. For this purpose linguistic features of the texts used in the course of learning to read in the aviation institution are considered. Based on the analysis of the text array used in the classes, various types of communicative exercises that promote the formation and development of the skill of professionally oriented reading are proposed.
