Heraldry and Bonistics: interdisciplinary dialogue

For the first time in historical science, the article analyzes the informational and methodological links between heraldry and bonistics. Source studies and comparative methods of analysis of factual material are used. It is concluded that the dialogue between the disciplines is one-sided (coats of arms are used in paper banknotes), has chronological and thematic (state and territorial heraldry) limitations. Concrete examples show that paper banknotes are a valuable source for scientific heraldic knowledge, the foreign information potential of which is not used enough yet.
