Assessment of phenomena and events of reality: analytical dominants (on the material of English- language analytical articles)

The paper presents a relevant study on the use of linguistic techniques of influence in the text of an English-language analytical article. The authors have summarized new material on the topic under study. The concept of analytical dominant is introduced into scientific circulation. The main means of transmitting someone else's speech in this analytical genre are highlighted and described. The main focus is paid to the data interpretation function, which is central to the analytical article. On the basis of the analysis, the conclusion is made about the expediency of application of various methods of assessing reality used in the English-language analytical discourse of mass media.
