The concept of "border" in Russian, English and German linguocultures

This article attempts to establish the essential characteristics of the concept of border, to determine the features of its conceptualization and to identify the correspondence of lexical units representing the concept of "border" in the context of Russian, English and German language worldviews. The research discusses the scope of the concept of "border" and its application in the framework of philological sciences. The dual nature of the border value is noted, including both an abstract component and a concrete one. In various fields of linguistics, this concept is quite common. The differences in the interpretation of the content field of the border concept, the question of choosing a key lexeme representing this concept are considered.
