Word-forming suffixes of Khanty adjective names (semantics and functioning)

The article considers the word-forming suffixes of the names of the adjectives of the Khanty language on the material of Western dialects. The material of our study is adjectives collected by the method of continuous selection from bilingual dictionaries, collections of texts, as well as speech samples of the author's field records in the Kazym, Shuryshkar and Ural dialects of the Khanty language. The word formation of the names of the adjectives of the Khanty language was not the subject of special research, which is why our interest in this topic is justified. We considered a significant layer of vocabulary, as a result, six word-forming suffixes were identified, and a semantic characteristic was given. The most productive word-forming suffix of the names of the adjectives of the Khanty language is defined.
