The article focuses upon the analysis of resumptive personal forms of expression of the semantic subject on the material of artistic discourse, in particular on the material of the original and translated texts of M. Bulgakov’s novel "The Master and Margarita". The study illustrates the similarities and differences between the systems of denomination of the subject in the languages, presented above, and focuses on the manifestation of logical symmetry, which overcomes interlingual asymmetry due to the direct and indirect interchangeability of resumptive personal forms of expression of the semantic subject. As a result of the analysis of the original and translated texts of M. Bulgakov’s novel "The Master and Margarita", the following conclusion is made: there exists a directly proportional relationship between the degree of the expressed uncertainty and the degree of generalization of the resumptive personal ways of expressing the subject. The subject missing in a Russian sentence in German often corresponds to man. At the same time, resumptive personal ways of expressing the subject in both Russian and German can be found both in active and passive constructions.

Keywords:a semantic subject, resumptive personal forms of expressing the subject, contextual analysis, comparative analysis.
