The specifics of Russian-Iranian interaction in the Syrian crisis

The Syrian crisis that has been lasting for more then 11 years determines the urgency of this article. Having been the partners in the field of the Syrian crisis Russia and Iran supported ruling regime in Syria. Both countries are deeply involved in the Syrian crisis and play a crucial role in its settlement. In view of this presented article is aimed to investigate the character of Russian-Iranian interaction in Syria. An author shows the rivalry between Moscow and Tehran for maintaining their control on the development of the current situation in Syria. He considers reviling the nature of Russian-Iranian disagreements and drawing the cooperation’s perspectives for Russia and Iran to peacefully resolve the Syrian conflict, as well. An appropriate theoretical framework for this study was provided by the constructivist approach combined with comparative methodology. Thus helps to achieve composite study of the specific behavioral patterns for both countries in saving their interests in Syria and region. The special features of Russian and Iranian’s ties with Syrian regime are shown in this article. The article determines main directions of Russian and Iranian’s politics towards the Syrian crisis. The character of Russian-Iranian’s disagreements and its causes in resolving the Syrian crisis are studied as well. The conclusion about no confrontational nature of the Russian-Iranian’s differences regards resolution of the Syrian conflict and preserving partnership mode of Russian-Iranian ties was proved in this article. This article defines by its novelty and based on sources in Arabic and Iranian languages. The essences of this article have a practical dimension and might be used as assessments for Russian state’s political institutions and useful supplements’ in lecturing courses on the oriental studies.
