The main Methods of translating the English participles into Russian in aviation related texts

The article analyzes the specifics in translating the English participles into Russian in aviation-related texts. For this purpose, the linguistic features of scientific and technical texts are considered and the characteristic of the participle as a grammatical category of modern English is given. The work also shows discrepancies between participle forms and functions in the source language and the language of translation. The analysis reveals the dependence of the lexico-grammatical transformations applied in translation on syntactic functions of the participle in the sentence.
