Representation of the concept "Fire" by means of units of the universal subject code in science fiction discourse

The concept of “Fire” in the English language, being a multi-layered mental structure, is reflected in science fiction discourse, where it contributes to the creation of an artistic image conceived by the science fiction author. In view of the genre typological features of science fiction works, the concept of “Fire” occupies an important place in the artistic narrative, since it is part of the plot and complements scientific ideas about the surrounding reality. In the course of the analysis aimed at establishing a universal subject code, which is represented by the concept of “Fire” when expressed in the English-language science fiction discourse, it was found that the spectrum of the universal subject code is rather narrow and is limited to universal / basic human mental representations of fire. The universal subject code of fire in sci-fi discourse is “danger”, “threat to life”, “means for survival”.
