Applied aspects of paratextuality: preparation of elements of a literary-artistic print

The article is focusing on the problem of the relationship between the theory of paratextuality and the practice of designing publications. The modeling method is used, with the help of which the techniques of the editor-publisher's work with the elements of the paratext of the literary and artistic book – mono issue of A. Christie's novel "The Orient Express" are shown on a concrete example. Stages of work: selection of the author and the main text; analysis of already published versions; approaches to the design of the series, cover, frontispiece; options for writing annotations – have compiled an algorithm that can be applied to solve specific tasks in the process of mastering professional competencies and in the practice of designing art publications. The developments were made taking into account the possibilities of the communicative potential of the publishing product.
