National and cultural specifics of Russian and Avar stereotypes

The article is devoted to the study of national and cultural stereotypes in Russian and Avar journalism. Stereotypes are considered in the Russian-language media and in the Avar socio-political weekly «Hahikat». The differences of stereotypes are determined by the example of the use of lexemes about migrants. The analysis also showed that in journalism it is necessary to avoid the use of stereotypes that do not correspond to the surrounding reality and entail interethnic and interfaith conflicts in society, what especially relevant for the multinational Russian statehood.
