Features of the translation of English abbreviations in media and scientific discourse

The article deals with the concepts of abbreviations in the field of linguistics, the main ways and methods of translating English-language abbreviations from media and scientific discourse into Russian. It is noted that due to the steady growth in the volume of the lexicon, a large number of new terminology and, accordingly, abbreviations derived from them appear, and it has a significant impact on the nature of intercultural communication.
