To the issue of ratio of Chinese characters in dialect and popular forms

The article is dedicated to peculiarities of non-standard forms of Chinese characters. The paper describes principles of functioning of Chinese characters in dialect and popular forms, methods of creation, area of distribution. Dialect characters are used to convey dialect lexical meaning and they are independent of other forms of characters. Popular forms of Chinese characters are modified of standard characters.
