The theory of conceptual metaphor has been the center of research in the field of cognitive linguistics in recent years. The abundance of military metaphors in Russian sports news has a profound effect on how people view and play sports. This article attempts to generalize the patterns of military metaphor in the texts of Russian sports news, as well as an attempt to analyze the reasons that influence the formation of patterns of Russian military metaphor and the shortcomings of their excessive use.
