Shaklein Viktor Mikhailovich  (Doctor of Philology, Professor Head of the Department of Russian Language and Teaching Methods Peoples' Friendship University of Russia)

The article considers the language of Russian business correspondence from the point of view of its syntactic, structural component. The object of the study was business letters of different subgenres, and its subject was the features of the syntactic constructions used in them by the authors. The goal was to identify the syntactic tradition of Russian business writing and the features of its implementation at the present stage of development of business correspondence. The study used a descriptive method, methods of contextual and component analysis, as well as an integrated approach. Attention was drawn to the combination of traditional and new syntactic means determined by the nature of modern business communication. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that for the first time it considers the syntax system of Russian business writing as a product of a certain linguistic tradition, which receives an original interpretation at the present stage of language development. It was revealed that the traditional syntactic means used with high frequency (non-exclamatory declarative sentences, passive constructions, one-part, complicated and complex sentences, constructions with an indirect expression of a question and motivation, etc.) are designed to support the principles of unification and standardization of business communication, to make communication non-personal , official. At the same time, new syntactic features that are becoming more widespread (direct expression of a question and motivation, exclamatory sentences, introductory words and sentences, etc.) work in the opposite direction and reflect the strengthening of the personal nature of written business communication. The conclusion is made about the formation of a new tradition in modern business writing, according to which communication is carried out more emotionally, and the distance between the author and the addressee of the letter is reduced.
