Options for strategic solutions to the agrarian issue in the Caucasus after the Caucasian war

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of land reform in the North Caucasus after the end of the Caucasian War. The article is based, among other things, on archival documents introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The article emphasizes that the main approaches to the reform were developed not only in the administrative structures of the empire at different levels, but also with the involvement of representatives of the highlanders, which made it possible to avoid any noticeable unrest. It can be stated that the land reform carried out in the 1860s and 1870s by the Caucasian governors, as a whole, solved the task of allotting land to the mountain communities of the North Caucasus.
