Achaeva Marina Sergeevna  (Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Yelabuga Institute of Kazan Federal University)

The article presents an analysis of the word-formation of nouns that make up the lexical semantic group "seasons". The author considers the formal semantic structure of the substantive word-formation nests (winter, summer, spring, autumn) in the Russian language and their equivalents (winter, summer, spring, autumn) in English. These lexemes and their derivatives belong to the sphere of objective human reality, they are universal concepts, have universal significance and are represented in any language, which is essential in comparative research. Specific nominative units, derived words, indicating the national identity of the derivational-semantic space of the Russian and English languages are revealed.

Keywords:word-formation nest, derivative word, correlation, national-cultural semantics.
