Curriculum reform and teaching practices in history in China's higher education institutions in terms of ideological and political thinking

The course of history in Chinese higher education performs the functions of representing knowledge, developing abilities, ideological and political education, and shaping the worldview of students of all specialties. The responsibility and mission of Chinese universities in this regard is to preserve traditional culture, foster patriotism, value orientations, and dialectical thinking. The concept and program of the "ideological and political course" in the teaching of history ensure the unity of "knowledge transfer" and "value orientation" in combination of professional knowledge, competence in the chosen profession with ideological and political elements. The "Ideological and Political Course" is considered as a systemic element of the curriculum and curricula focused on the integration of "knowledge transfer", "value orientation" and education of patriotism in the courses of national and world history. At the same time, patriotism is combined with modern and innovative approaches to teaching, using the latest achievements of national and world historical science.
