DEVELOPMENT PROCESS OF THE NATIONAL PRESS IN THE 90S OF THE XX CENTURY (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE NEWSPAPER "SHАҺRI KAZAN")

In the article, the authors presented the results of studying the process of formation and development of the Tatar national newspaper "Shaһri Kazan" ("City of Kazan"). The founder of this publication is Tatmedia JSC in the Republic of Tatarstan. The article reveals the features of the positioning of the newspaper, its ideological and political orientation at the initial stage of development. The newspaper "Shaһri Kazan" became one of the first Tatar publications that appeared during the period of perestroika. The democratic edition quickly won the trust of readers. At the very beginning, the newspaper was only a city publication. Now it has become a popular republican socio-political newspaper.
