CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF CONTENT AND LANGUAGE INTEGRATED LEARNING, CLIL. TAKING STOCK

The article presents an analysis of CLIL technology as an innovative method of teaching foreign languages in higher education. Modern social, political and economic prerequisites require the introduction of integrated approaches in the higher education system in order to train future specialists capable of intellectual flexibility and complex problem solving. An analysis of some specific foreign literary sources and recent studies of the professional activities of the teaching staff of higher education were used to select the CLIL technology as one of the possible approaches aimed at training specialists in demand by modern society. As a result, after analyzing the main features of the CLIL technology as a whole, we come to the conclusion that it can be fully or partially implemented in the higher education system. The obvious advantages of this technology are revealed, and it is concluded that the result of the implementation of CLIL will be the opportunity for students to reach more complex level of learning in a particular professional field.
