The article is devoted to the study of the semantics, meaning and possibilities of language units of various levels in a poetic text, as well as to work with them in the course of a philological analysis of a literary text with students of the philological faculty of a pedagogical university. On the example of the genre variety of love lyrics “farewell letter”, we consider how the means of lexical, morphological and syntactic levels express the main meanings of a poetic work, both intellectual and emotional, which not only conveys the theme and idea, but also creates expressiveness of the poetic text.Keywords: image, nouns, indicativeness, predicativity, poetic picture of the world, expressiveness, emotional atmosphere, types of perception.
