The article discusses various approaches to the typology of the reader and considers the reader A. Gavalda in more detail. The structure of the text determines the nature of perception, but the result of understanding the text cannot be programmed by the author of the text. The nature of understanding and especially the interpretation of the meaning of a literary text depend on a number of internal, subjective factors and the type of reader.
